Given to him by his niece Charlotte, this was one of the few gifts sent to Napoléon on St. Helena. Charlotte and her sister, Zenaïde, were the daughters of Napoléon’s brother Joseph and Julie Clary. The Emperor was very touched to receive this drawing from Charlotte, who was then 17 years old.
