The is a beautiful and etherealAntique Vintage Old Mid Century Modern Abstract Horse Oil Painting on Artist Board, depicting a swirling lyrical abstraction of organically rendered shapes, swirls, and waves of vibrant pigmentation. Intermixed with this painting are partially visible horses, including hooves and horse heads which stick out from the abstracted cloud-like forms. I am unsure if the horses are painted, or if this was a lithographic print of horses and has had an abstract expressionist artwork painted over it. This artwork likely dates to the 1960's - 1970's. I cannot find a signature on this piece, but perhaps you recognize the artist or their work? On the verso are the remnants of a second painting, which appears to have been a cubist cityscape painting. Unfortunately, the paint is peeling on this backside and very little of this artwork remains (please see photos.) Approximately 21 x 51 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 18 x 48 inches. Good condition for age, with moderate scuffing and edge wear to the original period frame. There is one small area of minor paint loss and scuffing to the lower right edge. Due to its size, shipping will be high for this painting, however Free Local Pickup from Los Angeles County, California is also an option. Acquired in San Gabriel Valley, California.
