Best offers welcome A mid 19th century ormolu type clock dating to circa 1855. The clock is formed in the Rococo style and features a finely dressed painted Sevres style dial and panel. The drum is flanked by two Ancient Greek style masks of goddesses. The clock features a twin train mechanical movement striking the hours and half on a bell. The clock is regulated by a count wheel. The mechanism is stamped 'Japy Freres Medal Of Honour' and 'Brevete'. Included in the set is a Victorian gilt wood stand that would have been especially made in order to allow the clock to stand on precisely. The clock includes a winding key, pendulum and bell. Approximate dimensions: Gilt wood stand: 4.5 cm high x 22.5 cm wide x 15 cm deep Clock (independent of stand): 25.5 cm high x 18.5 cm wide x 12.5 cm deep Condition: Overall, the clock is in good condition. The hand painted dial and panel retain a good colour and are free from damage. There is a very small slit (damage) to the back of the clock (please see the picture of the rear of the clock).
