Antique French Stag Handle Fighting Skinning Knife-Sheath-Hand Made-Buffalo Kill:

Antique Stag Handled French Trade Knife that is 11 1/2 inches long with a 7- and 1/2-inch carbon steel blade. It comes with a very old leather sheath with silver colored tip at the bottom.
The blade looks like it is secured to the stag handle with sinew and it is stamped with a maker's mark on one side but hard to read. We believe this is a French blade but look at the photograph above and judge for yourself and if anyone knows for sure please let us know.
A great frontier knife that may have been Indian owned at one time but no way to prove.
