Nice old rosary.The center is upside down compared with how rosaries are made today. These rosaries were made in the late 1800\'s and early 1900\'s.The beads are believed to be gutta percha beads, which is a rubber-like or even leather-like material derived from the latex of trees in Malaysia, the South Pacific, and South America. This was a process used during the 19th century.The beads look like brown wood, about 5 mm in size, and all the beads of this rosary feel secure.The center has an image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on one side and Our Lady on the other (looks like Our Lady of Lourdes).The crucifix is about 1\" long and the rosary is 16\" long.Very nice rosary to add to your collection.
