Antique Meiji Japanese Satsuma Tea Set Dia Nippon Hand-painted w Moriage Marked. 18 pc

This Japanese satsuma tea set with moriage detailing depicts the Japanese Immortals as well as as Kannon, the Goddess of Mercy and compassion. This set includes a teapot, lidded creamer and sugar as well as six cups and saucers. The fact that it has survived all these years and looks like it does is pretty amazing. There is some minor wear to the moriage detail here and there, but it is mostly fully intact. It\'s thin, light and beautiful with no cracks!

The \"Dai Nippon\" characters (大日本 \'Great Japan\' mark) was applied to items during the Meiji period (1868–1912). This mark was used as an indication of their place of origin during a period of unrest in Japanese nationalism.

Shipping:

Cost varies based on weight and location. I do my very best to package items with extra care and I do sometimes use recycled shipping when appropriate. Items are shipped within 1 business day of receiving payment. I determine the best means of shipment to your location and that is usually through USPS Priority Mail. I will occasionally use standard USPS ground to save on shipping for items under 11 oz (with packaging) and $10. This will be noted in the shipping description on the item page.

Returns:

All returns must be postmarked no later than 30 days after receiving the item. I will take the item as a return but, buyer must pay shipping. It must also be returned in the same condition it was received in.

I graduated with a Bachelor\'s in Interior Design in \'97. I worked in the field for 20 years successfully until having twins with medical issues. This necessitated my transition to a different kind of work and staying home with them. Recently, I have reignited my passion for design with my (mostly) vintage and antiques business.
