This antique inlaid Napoleon III box is just in from France. The box has a slightly domed lid with brass and mother of pearl inlays combined with several inlaid woods, burl, king and some dark wood. The front panel folds down like any good glove box should, so the gloves can be lifted out easily. The lining in the box is striking and in remarkable condition, as close to perfect as you can expect in a box this old. Just a few very small spots as shown. It comes with a working key as well. Condition of the box is very good, some age related scratches to the top, no other defects. The center medallion has a monogram: Y V.Measurements are: 12 1/8" by 4" and 3 1/2" tall.
