Beautiful Rare Early 19th Cent French Classical Scenic Toile 1682:

Description: This beautiful important rare early 19th century French classical scenic toile has a natural linen background color with classical vignettes of cupids, horses, figures, buildings, palm trees , birds and elephants. The figures and motifs are all in a faded wine color, all beautifully printed. This lovely toile had been used as a curtain, the bottom part of the toile has a scalloped finish. There is a woven trim on both sides of the fabric. See photos for reference Measurement: 51 inches in Length by 33 inches in Width Condition: Good - the toile is quilted and the back of the fabric is also in linen. There are a few stains- but still a wonderful early toile for collectors! All fabrics, wallpapers and paintings are sold "as is". Our items are vintage and some are more than 100 years old. We try our best to list all imperfections, however on occasion we may miss a few.
