British English Lord Lieutenants Victorian Edwardian named Uniform of (Colonel) Col J.A. Saner 1864-1939 & Tin Boar War.A Colonel in the18th, and19th centuries, was typically in charge of an army regiment between $3,000 to 5,000 men.

Comprising scarlet frock coat with silver plate buttons, the collar and cuffs with silver oakleaf and acorn embroidery. The silver epaulettes feature the Cross of St. George. Trousers of blue cloth with silver lace. Sword belt of silver oakleaf and acorn pattern with a silver Victorian belt plate.

Own this antique Victorian/Edwardian military uniform of a real Lord. The tile ofLord was part of theBritish Honours Order, which is adistinguished institution that has been in place for centuries, recognizingindividuals for their services, achievements and contributions to society. Aperson with a knighthood is referred to as Sir, while higher nobles arereferred to as Lords.The title Lord is given by either the King or Queen.

The cocked hat of black silk and silver lace, with swan feathers plume. Silk liner worn.

The uniform is contained in a large black metal tin carrying tin, with brass plate engraved Col. J. A. Saner C.B., V.D., D.L.

Tin size: 44\" x 16\" x 10\". It looks to be lined in copper.

The uniform set is in good vintage condition. The silk lining is worn.

Colonel John Arthur Saner was born in 1864. Saner was an engineer specializing in the construction and alteration of bridges, docks, locks, embankments and docks. From 1883 to 1921 he served continuously in the Volunteers and the Territorials, being gazette Honorary Colonel in 1905. In 1937 he was appointed Deputy Lieutenant for the county Palatine of Chester. He was awarded the Order of the Bath in the 1939 Birthday Honors.
