Extremely Rare Antique Thuringian Water Razor Hone, Presumed Escher, Blue-Green Layer, Vintage, 8-Inch, Ready for Use

I am selling an extremely rare 8-inch antique Thuringian water razor hone, presumed to be an Escher, based on the partially preserved original label, unique color, and my personal experience with the stone. Escher stones are renowned as finishing hones, ideal for achieving a fine edge, particularly for straight razors.

If this is indeed an Escher, these stones were produced in Germany for over 100 years and are regarded as some of the finest finishing hones in the world. Stones from the blue-green layer are known for delivering a polish equivalent to 10-12K grit, providing an exceptionally smooth cutting edge.

I am selling this stone only because I recently acquired an authenticated Escher. Otherwise, I would have kept it, as owning two such stones is excessive. Let someone else enjoy its benefits.

The stone has been flattened and is ready for immediate use. The label is partially intact and protected by a lacquer coating. There are some minor chips, which are normal for antique stones of this age and do not affect its functionality.

The stone measures 8 inches in length and weighs approximately 442 grams, making it ideal for honing.

Please read the description carefully and review the photos. This stone will be appreciated by those familiar with Escher stones and their unique qualities.

For reference, I have included an image of a similar stone with an identical label, sourced from the internet.

• Origin: Thuringia, Germany

• Type: Natural water hone

• Layer: Presumed blue-green

• Condition: Antique, used, flattened and ready for use, partially preserved label with a lacquer coating, minor chips present

• Dimensions: 8 inches in length

• Weight: Approximately 442 grams

This stone is an excellent choice for collectors or professionals seeking a high-quality tool for final edge refinement. Antique stones with original labels in this condition are becoming increasingly rare, making this a unique offering.

Note: The stone matches the photos exactly. No returns will be accepted.

Packaging and Shipping: The stone will be carefully packaged to ensure safe delivery. Shipping is available only within the continental United States.
