This vintage McDonald's coffee spoon is a rare find and should interest any collector of pop culture ephemera. We have collected the last of the mere thousands of these 1970s McSpoons that are left and in the interest of history and good taste, we are doing something amazing…

We are Plating these authentic, absolutely vintage McSpoons… in 24 karat gold! We are turning these famous little coffee spoons into stunning pieces of usable art that showcase the iconic brand's history and fun.

Please understand that the spoon's golden color is not paint, it’s electro-chemically resurfaced in pure, 24 karat gold. Our spoons are 100% guaranteed to NOT be PAINTED or “color dipped.”

How is it done?

Electroplating is a scientific process. At a molecular level, utilizing a microscopic, 24 karat gold solution. A sacrificial anode and electricity are employed in a bath of liquid to attract gold molecules to the spoon thereby replacing the top layer of the spoon’s molecules with metal to create a brand new, durable, physical, pure gold surface.

We are very proud of our level of quality, attention to detail and work ethic. We make sure that each and every unique and vintage spoon is as beautiful as humanly possible.

Our spoons are plated at a state of the art laboratory in the U.S.A.

The aerospace electroplating process creates a very shiny spoon giving it a classic, luxurious glitter and glow only possible with pure 24 karat gold.

We use the same gold plating lab in Los Angeles California as famous awards shows, international fine artists and movie studios.

The rich luster of pure gold perfectly complements the classic 1970s design: the iconic McDonald's arches logo, the thin stem, the rounded spoon cup and the slight taper makes this stylish collectors item perfect for anyone interested in fun design, fast food culture and counter culture.

Note: each mcspoon is a real and original plastic coffee spoon that was given away free at the restaurant 50 years ago. Due to the vintage nature of this up cycled product slight imperfections, scratches dents and size variants exist. The electroplate process will cover the spoon in beautiful gold but use with care. It’s still a plastic spoon at heart so you need you to be gentle. Rough surfaces may scratch and damage the finish. Use a soft polish cloth or a microfiber cloth to remove any smudges. (Remember, it’s not solid gold… that would cost over $2000!) This is for fun, display, investment and light-hearted use… it won’t hold up to rugged daily wear as a necklace. You can try it, but we don’t recommend it.
