Size: 3 1/8 diameter
Condition: Box is in wonderful antique condition. Tortoiseshell liner has damage (see photos). There is a tiny hairline...possibly a natural separation in the burl wood, on the lip of the lid. (see enlargement of last photo above)This snuff box is pictured in the book titled "European and American Snuff Boxes 1730-1830", by Clare Le CorbeillerDescription in the book for Fig. 692 says: "Wood, the cover pressed with an allegorical scene of the battle of Austerlitz (the battle of the emperors). French, 1805. British Museum."
