This isNAPOLEONIC WAR FRENCH PRESENTATION OFFICER - BODYGUARDSWORD.This bodyguard guarded the carriage and accompanied the marshal or general of the French army during the Napoleonic Wars.Sword is used but in good condition. Its length38,5inches or 98 cm. Length of blade 33 inches or 84 cm. Blade hasmark: " K & C "its -" KIRSCHBAUM & Co " ( SOLINGEN GERMANY).Patriotic military engravings on both sides of the blade( see picture).The length of the entire blade on both sides has 5 grooves - recesses, this is a very rare style( see picture).This sword was found in Louisiana State. It may have been used in the American Civil War by the Confederate Army. The sword has a metal scabbard.
