ORIGINAL-1995 AUTOGRAPHED JEFF BUCKLEY PEOPLE MAGAZINE \"50 MOST BEAUTIFUL\" PHOTO:
$2000.00

I am the original owner of this item. Jeff Buckley signed this page I tore from People Magazine back in 1995. It was placed in a frame from that year till this very moment. As with most any authentic/original autographed items, it is one of a kind. However it is unique in it\'s origin (People Mag.) as well as the fact photo was also used in an article about Jeff, in the issue of \"Memphis: The City Magazine\" Volume XLII No.1, April 2017. How did they get it? My sister Danielle wrote the article about Jeff and asked me if she could include my autographed photo in her article along with her other research, interviews, etc.For authenticity\'s sake, I will include a copy of the exact Memphis City Magazine (pictured above) bearing this autographed photo..I will also include the yellow guitar pick pictured above. If I correctly recall, it was solely designed by Jeff to be used on the \"My Sweetheart The Drunk\" tour.Considering parting with this irreplaceable keepsake is very difficult. After 27 years of seeing it sitting upon my mantle, I never tire of all that it represents of memory and legacy. So, I\'m not letting go easily.
The story of this autograph:Some events in life, especially those punctuated by unexpected tragedy (Jeff\'s untimely death), are indelibly etched into our memory. One such day was the day this autograph was made. It was 1995, I was 24. Myself and a couple close friends made a quick two hour trip from my hometown in WV to Pittsburgh PA where Jeff Buckley would be the opening act for Juliana Hatfield. (I still have the ticket stub, but I wrote in Jeff\'s name on it. Some shows back then, they would tear the tickets in half, so the stub only showed Juliana Hatfield\'s name.)Initially, I ran into Jeff standing outside of the venue speaking with a couple other fans. I asked him if the show had sold-out and in a kind and unfazed voice that I would hear again later that evening, he replied \"are you asking me to get you tickets?\". I told him no and that I was just concerned that we had not made the trip to see the show in vain.Afterwards, I walked into the Metropol, tickets in hand, where through a picture window in an upstairs lounge perched above the stage, I watched Jeff shoot a game of pool with his and Juliana\'s bandmates. As a musician myself, I had been mesmerized by every recording I heard from this relatively still unknown genius. Unable to peel my eyes away from him, I simply just waited in anticipation for the moment that game of pool ended so that I could find a way to speak with him once more. I wanted to tell him how brilliant a performer he was and that even though I drum, the influence of his creative marvel, I would always appreciate. For once in this unpredictable life, events went exactly as I had hoped. The pool shooting ended and Jeff walked right down from that lounge and straight towards me. I called his name, he stopped and politely walked over. I quickly introduced myself, asking if we could talk for a moment, but there was music playing so loudly from a band opening up for Jeff that we couldn\'t hear one another speaking. Jeff, being so considerate andaccommodating, pointed me towards a closed door and suggested we head in there to speak. This area was a service entrance, a small corridor maybe ten feet long, so it was a very quiet, private space to speak. Admittedly, I was somewhat shocked that he would spend his personal time going out of his way to speak with a complete stranger. Apparently, that was just his way. So, it was just myself and Jeff Buckley standing, chatting in this hallway for maybe five minutes. He was as expected, witty, kind and obviously intelligent. It was nearing the end of our conversation when I pulled out the page I had torn from \"People Magazine\'s Fifty Most Beautiful\" issue. I can still hear his voice, his words, when I asked where they got the photo. Jeff replied \"They stole it\". I laughed and apologized for bringing it, but it was the only thing besides a boring plain sheet of paper I thought to grab in the moment. I asked if he would sign it and so he took the page, placed it against the thick block wall that lined the corridor and inscribed what you see pictured here. I thanked him, he graciously responded in kind and we walked out of the hallway back into the stage area. After his performance, I watched a few songs from Juliana but there was no performance that could compare with Jeff\'s performance that night so I gathered my friends to head home. As we were leaving the Metropol, Jeff was standing just outside in the doorway of his tour bus. I walked over with my friends to say a final goodbye. I shook his hand, told him these words \"I\'ve never heard anyone sing like that at a live performance before tonight, your voice was incredible. I will never forget it\". Staring straight at me, he just smiled and said \"thanks man\". He signed my friends ticket stub and stated that he had to get on the bus. I thanked him one last time and walked away.
What a privilege and honor it was to have had this experience.
