It is a working (this one has a lighter sound than most but revolves and makes a lighter noise when revolved) Antique Early Watchman's Clacker Noise Maker with a Ratchet mechanism and handle. Handle appears to be an old replacement. It is very attractively made and is functional as well. One this wonderfully made is very hard to find if not rarely found. The craftsman took his art seriously.

We bought 3 of these together from a collection and sold the most simply one first. The two that we are currently listing separately are the cream of the crop! It is a very artistically and nicely made. It is a very wonderful nice FOLK ART example and has the nice all natural patina from age and use. It has lines carved around the edge and the handle is nicely carved as well. The patina is perfect!

It measures approximately 9.25" Wide and the length or height is approx 7.75" Tall. It would make a wonderful Gift or would be great for your Historical, Antique, Primitives, or Tools Collection.
