From the author's introduction:
"Alchemy itself is a science about Nature, the Light, the Dark, the Sun, the Moon, and their forces. It focuses on perfection, and the Garden of Eden, the pyramids, 'Heaven,' 'The Firmament,' 'The Creation,' and the philosophers' stone. ... Alchemy is also about us, our past and origins. We will be discussing the ancient Egyptians, their philosophies and religion that laid the foundation for our present beliefs. ... As we discuss Alchemy, I want first to implant in your mind the thought that this is a science of the past, but you will see that it will be a science of the future. ... In the final chapter we return to the pyramids, to Cheops in particular and a possible answer to this world mystery..."
At one point the author gives his interpretation of "The Tablets of Flamel in Their Entirety". He also discusses a number of other classic alchemical emblems as can be seen in the pics.
