My grandmother Alma Fleming painted this lamp. I had it as a child and loved it. I passed it onto my daughter and at about 5 years old knocked it over and broke the top globe. My grandfather would go out and search for original gas lamp bases and retrofit them to electricity, see the homemade wiring under the base. This lower globe is signed by “Alma Fleming” and there is some crude glue marks where grandpa glued the globe to the antique base. All this lamp needs is a glass chimney and a top globe. I was born in 1956 and that’s how old this lamp is but the base is Victorian. The base measures 6 3/4” across and the height measures 10 1/2” to the globe setting. I have other complete lamps with the entire lamp upper and lower globes complete. These pieces are taller and magnificent. On this lamp the key turns the power on and off. If I remember correctly this is a three way switch, top, bottom, and off. Let me know if you have any questions.
