US WW1 Army British Made Overseas Garrison Hat Cap NAMED UNIT MARKED Sz 7 1/2344: $75.00
For sale here is a great looking US WW1 British Made Army Overseas Garrison Hat Cap. This cap is in the typical British made style with low front. The cap is made from OD serge wool. The cap is extremely nicely named to C J Tysinger of Co. 5 1st C.A.P. I have not attempted any research on Tysinger, and i am unsure of which unit 1st C.A.P. was. This will make a great research project for the next owner. The exterior of the cap does show some light wear and soiling, and there is some surface moth tracking, with a few tiny holes mostly to the wearer's right and to the top of the cap. The top of the cap has been hand sewn together to give it more of a peaked look. Inside, the cap has an off white cotton sweatband that shows wear and soiling. The cap is unlined. The cap is very neatly named in a calligraphy style. The cap is not maker or size marked, but this is a large cap that fits like a 7 1/2, or maybe a touch smaller. This will be an excellent research project. The cap was found in the Greensboro NC area, if that helps with research.Please see my other store at Cadencemilitaria2 for more great items.
