Undocumented Henry Disston & Son 5.5" BacksawThis is a very rare, undocumented, 5.5" Henry Disston & Sons open handle backsaw. The plate is in outstanding condition and the teeth are even fairly sharp. The stamp on the spine is very strong. As you can see, the bottom part of the handle is missing. There is also a hole drilled in the handle. This saw could have been a special order from the Disston factory. It's is also possible that it was cut down from a 6" saw, but there are no marks on the saw to indicate this is the case. It is more likely a special order from Disston. Because of it's rarity, this saw deserves a good restoration.
