Vintage 1920s Art Deco Metal Mesh Cigarette or Playing Card Case – Enamel Clasp:

This vintage Art Deco metal mesh case from the 1920s was designed to hold either a deck of playing cards or a soft pack of regular-sized cigarettes. Measuring approximately 3.5” x 2.5” x 1”, it features a woven metal mesh exterior, ornate decorative edges, and a hinged opening. The clasp is adorned with a delicate enamel pink rose, adding an elegant touch.

The case is magnetic, indicating a nickel-plated or steel construction rather than sterling silver. While there are no visible maker’s marks, its style is reminiscent of designs by Evans or Whiting & Davis from the Art Deco era. The clasp and hinge are in working order, and the enamel floral detail remains intact with minor wear near the latch. The metal plating shows signs of wear, and there is visible mesh damage, including a tear on one side, as shown in the photos.
