Vintage Political Button Watch Fob Wm H Taft Leather Description Vintage Political Button Watch Fob Wm H Taft Leather ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A great original political button, "For President Wm. H. Taft", it is encased in metal and attached to a leather strap so it could be used as a watch fob. Possibly it could have been worn on a belt ? Wm. H. Taft was the 27th President of the United States and later was also the 10th Chief Justice of the United States; the only person to have ever servd in both offices. Taft became President in 1908 and served only one term so this button would date to between 1907 - 1912. It is in very good condition with minor wear, no breaks or repairs, and no dings or dents. Some wear and scuffing to the metal around the button that it is encased in but the button itself is very good. The leather strap is also quite good with some minor wear but there are no rips or tears and the leather is still quite soft and supple. Please refer to the photos. A rear, hard to find item, and an excellent addition to any collection.
