Original 1873 Harper's Weekly, Vol. XVII, April 26, 1873, p. 345. The steamship SS Atlantic , part of the infamous White Star Line, struck rocks and sank off the coast of Nova Scotia on April 1, 1873. The ship's manifest indicates that of the 952 people aboard, 156 were women and 189 were children (including two who were born on the voyage). All women and all children perished except for one twelve-year-old boy, John Hindley. The Dimensions are 15 5/8" by 11." Good condition with no rips. Slight corner bends. Very nice piece of history.
