The sides are plexiglass, not glass. Humidors are expensive for this size so the price is great. I did take the sides off (easily come off) and used a food grade silicone to seal those on and in the edges. It was $12 to buy the silicone and hit the spots. Seasoned it and put a digital hydrometer in the bottom to check with the analog top and both are reading the same and it's holding beautifully. Put a little into it with silicone and season it right and you'll be happy. It's beautiful too!
