This is quite an old piece in Mason's Patent Ironstone's Mandalay pattern, in the dark blue and red colorway. I believe this is from the first decade of the 20th century or earlier. This is one of Mason's most sought-after patterns, and even though the gravy boat has turned dark from significant crazing, I find it to be a beautiful item in a classic Chinoiserie or Regency design. The saucer has much less crazing. I love the saucer because as you can see from the photos the footprint of the gravy boat is exactly echoed in the actual shape of the plate--something you wouldn't see in later such items, including Mason's work. Please look at the photos carefully for exact size and condition. Although there is lots of crazing, there are NO chips or cracks. I think this is gorgeous and even if you don't collect this pattern you might enjoy using it as a display in a grouping of Imari-type patterned items.
