An extremely pleasing studio portrait of Rosie Wolff holding her violin and bow wearing an elaborate floral dress, surrounded by flowers and foliage, her solemn expression immensely touching. Affixed to a light pink card with Eisenmann’s imprint in gold lettering to front and back, the latter additionally showing a contemporary pencil annotation stating “Rosie Wolff Age 18 years”. Wolff (who was also known as “The German Rose”) was born in 1866, which would date this photograph to around 1884.

Approx. 107x164mm., and overall in fine condition. A rather beautiful portrait.
