EXCEPTIONALLY RARE MUSEUM MOUNTED 1846 SLAVERY DOCUMENTATION and LETTER regarding the SALE of a young BOY to be SOLD in NEW ORLEANS...The letter is easily legible and there is a TRANSLATION of the letter ATTACHED to the REVERSE of this INCREDIBLE RARITY. With the slavery letter is an 1842 CITY of NEW ORLEANS $50 Bond. The NOTE is ORIGINAL and not a copy. Also with the note and the slavery document is a CDV of two ANTEBELLUM SOUTHERN WOMEN and their SLAVE / HOUSE BOY. The CDV is clear and highly detailed and Encased in ORNATE BRASS MATTING.

THE FRAMING :

Measures 25 X 22 ( Exterior ) and ( 13 X 11 ) Interior View. The frame is SOLID WOOD with MUSEUM MATTING and GOLD TRIM. The glass is undamaged and clear. The EMBOSSED BEADING surrounding the imagery with unique gold Floral Design is STUNNING against the BLACK BACKDROP. The frame is 1 inch deep. There's NO DAMAGE to this piece. On the REVERSE of this incredible HISTORICAL RARITY is the original COVER LETTER from 1846 with the TRANSLATION of the letter where the CAPTAIN STATES : the CREW thinks the boy is a GOOD BARBER. A barber in the 1840s was not a hairstyles but rather Someone Who PROVIDED SHAVES and WHISKER trims. The overall EYE APPEAL of this STUNNING HISTORICAL PIECE is EXCEPTIONAL.
