1879 ANTIQUE OFFICER UNIFORM SILVER TASSELS CORD SHAKO HAT ETISHKET – XTR.RARE

DESCRIPTION: Offered to you is this 19th century (1879) antique military Leibgarde officer shako hat etishket. Etishket is a silver cord with tassels that goes around the typical shako hat used by cavalry regiments all throughout Europe in the 18th and 19th centuries including Russia and France during Napoleon's era. This particular etishket was designed for the newly formed Bulgarian Royal Guards that were formed as a regiment in 1879 and were initially dressed as Russian Royal guards. This was only in 1879 and later new uniforms and hats were introduced. See photos of period shako hats below to see how it was installed. Made of very fine silver thread and silk. This extremely rare piece belonged to an officer in the Royal Army of Kingdom Bulgaria. The colors represent the national flag of Kingdom Bulgaria. In average condition for its age, it’s missing one of the tassels (see photos). Length: 63”. Scarce and highly collectable item.
