Condition:

Rich tonal image, sharp and clean with light rubbing, mount shows some aging/spotting, edge/corners rubbed/bumped with bend at top left corner, penned notations on portrait of the “Attic Angels” performing in the play “The Cancelled Cook” directed by noted composer and alumni Herbert Stothart at the University Madison Wisconsin.

“Broilers” are identified on the verso from left to right: Audrey Quinn, Harriet Pinkerton, Kathleen Moroney, Katherine Riley, Florence Gosline, Augusta Stiles, Dorothy Frankenburger, Elizabeth Grant and Gertrude Lukes. Each is identified to the sorority they belonged to.

Photographer Carl Thomas was active in Madison, Wisconsin during the early 20th century into the 1930s, possibly longer.
