1923 Vintage Press Photo.New York.Mrs. A. M. Baker, mother of Martha Gonzales, the new American Venus claims prenatal influence for her daughter\'s perfect 34 figure. Before Martha was born, Mrs. Baker, who has always been a great lover of art, purchased a painting representing a scene from \"Trystan and Isolde,\" in which scene are several perfectly formed figures. Mrs. Baker spent many hours gazing at this painting, which occupied the place of honor in her home, and hoped for a daughter endowed likewise with perfection of physical charms. Her wishes were realized not only when the child was born, but more recently when Miss Gonzales was acclaimed as the new \"American Venus\" Beauty Model at the Masonic Exposition in New York.
