1923 Original Press Photo by PHOTOGRAPHER HAROLD FLEMING.As the final unit in a transportation network of highways, railroads and steamship lines, in a vast region of scenic beauty, ferry service between Bellingham and Sidney, Vancouver Island, last Wednesday morning was instituted by the Canadian Pacific Railway Company's new automobile ferryboat, the Motor Princess.The Motor Princess has a carrying capacity of 50 cars. She is equipped with Diesel engines and can maintain a speed of 14 knots.
MV Motor Princess was a vehicle and passenger ferry built for Canadian Pacific in 1923. She was later renamed, Pender Queen then Pender Lady.
