Hills was named the Director of Development. This is a vintage press photo. Robert C. Hills, a native of New Orleans and a graduate of Tulane, was employed in 1934 as a chemical engineer at Grande Ecaille. He became superintendent of the laboratory in 1938 and during the last war was transferred to Cuba, where he was the manager of the metallurgical plant of Nicaro Nickel Company, a subsidiary of Freeport Sulphur, then engaged in producing scarce nickel for the war effort. He later became technical assistant to the president and was named the director of development in January 1950. Photo measures 8 x 10 inches. Photo is dated 11-09-1950. PHOTO FRONT
