Mrs. Ruby gutierrez won't tell her own age, but she doesn't mind spelling out that of her favorite "child"...she's 147 years old. In all that time she's never had a name, but her nickname's "Empress." She's a foot-high French bisque doll, an exquisite blue-eyed replica of Empress Eugenie which has been handed down through four generations of Mrs. Guitierrez' family and is about to succeed to the fifth. Though still vigorous despite recurring bouts of illness, Mrs. G. feels it's "about time" to hand over the Empress to her niece, Mrs. Victor Hymel, since she herself has only sons. "The Empress is like a human being," sighs Mrs. G., of her tiny companion; "I'll miss her." (P.S. We've supplied a closeup picture to comfort the aging, ailing but gallant lady.
