19th. Century Antique First Graduated Self-Nursing Baby Bottle. If the baby is laying in a cradle or bed on it\'s back, this baby bottle was designed to be self nursing when wrapped in a towel and laid on the baby\'s chest. Patented 1870, it was the first bottle that required no supervision by a parent or wet nurse. Just fill it as much as the baby needed and start washing diapers. \"... Women\'s work is never done.\" This Baby Bottle is clear glass in regular sunlight (photo 2 &3}, but glows a bright mint green when under a UV lamp.That is because it contains a touch of Uranium from the sand that was used to make the glass. Today this kind of glass is safe to be around, but not recommended for food according to most experts. It is a rare collectible and is in now in high demand.This baby bottle is in excellent mint condition, because it is Brand New OLD STOCK from a closed business that was started before the Civil War. I bought them in the original crates many years ago.
