Mid 19th Century European Hand Painted Wood Candle Box. Deeply Carved as shown. Elaborately decorated on all sides and back. Birds, flowers, scrolls and a rare figure of a woman in folk art costume on reverse. Initialed "A. J." at top front. Very good condition considering age and use. Part of one side has an early replacement of plain oak. Wear to the back where it rubbed against wall over time. See photos for details.
