19th Century Sevres Hand Painted Watteau Scene Floral Black Gold 9 3/4 Inch PlateAntique late 19th century French porcelain plate. Decorated with a hand painted Watteau scene / courting couple scene in the center framed by gold roses and scrollwork. Has a black border with hand painted pink, purple, blue, yellow, and white flowers over whit cartouches framed in gold gilding and gold roses and scrollwork. Has an underglaze green S. 76 mark and incised date code indicating the blank was produced by Sevres in 1876. Also has a slash through the green mark indicating it was sold blank. Probably decorated in Paris during the late 19th century. Has some wear to the gilding and to the black border, but otherwise good condition. Measures approximately 9 3/4 inches wide.
