Pair of Vintage, 3rd quarter 20th century, porcelain with underglaze cobalt blue and color transfer printed images of 18th century courtesans Hutschenreuther Germany Plates.
These beautiful 10 3/4\" diameter plates are Hutschenreuther\'s Monarch 9033 pattern, that have been inset and shadow box framed. The shadow boxes measure 19\"x 19\" x 2\" Deep.
It does appear that some weighting was added to the back of the framing from the look of the one box that the back is not completely secure.
The shadow boxes themselves have condition issues.
Plate #1 (Man & Women walking together) There is broken glass in the bottom of the shadowbox. Not sure where this came from because it does not appear to have Glass broken anywhere.
This back is not secured down.
Plate itself has some minor, very small areas of discoloration around the rim. Very minor issue with the plate itself.
Frame has some wear to the gold tone especially on the bottom.
Plate #2 ( Women sitting Man with Bag) The back is secure but it is very worn and aged and possibly a little water damage.
Plate has same very minor discoloration around the very edge. But again this is very minor.
The frame has little Knicks and scuffs but overall good condition.
Artist signed plate #1 but I can not make out the signature.
