For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Never Inked Limited Edition Montblanc Karl der Grosse from the 2000 Patron of the Art Series. This particular fountain pen is a Limited Edition 188 of 4810. This pen comes with the original inner and outer box along with the Montblanc International Service Certificate / Documentation. This fountain pen has never been inked, is considered New Old Stock, and is in Mint Condition fitted with an 18K (.49mm) Fine nib.
NOTE: The writing instrument Patron of Art Edition Charlemagne is a homage to the great cultural leader of the first millennium. The fountain pen is the 4810 type and the cap and barrel are fashioned from 925 sterling silver with a gentle spiral twist, with the fittings intricately gold-plated, evoking the ornamental style of Aachen Cathedral where Charlemagne was crowned.
Limited edition of the “Patrons of Art” collection sold in 2000 with a limited edition of 4810 fountain pens paying homage to the Carolingian king, Charlemagne, one of the greatest rulers of the High Middle Ages (742-814).
The cap and barrel are in perfect condition with no cracks, nicks, dings, dents, or repairs. The cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. The gentle spiral twist on the cap and barrel are magnificent works of craftsmanship. The entire fountain pen shines brilliantly. This Montblanc is a limited edition number, \"0188 of 4810\" and is imprinted on the right side of the upper cap. The lower right side of the cap is stamped with, \" 925, StØD, 925 Balance/Scale, and Bear\'s Head hallmarks\". The fountain pen measures 5 5/8\" capped and 6 3/8\" posted.
This Montblanc fountain pen uses a piston filling system, I have tested it with water, and works as it was designed to. It is in perfect working order and does so very smoothly. This pen has never seen ink and is considered in Mint, New Old Stock condition.
This fountain pen comes with a Fine nib in 18K two-tone gold, engraved with the imperial monogram of Charlemagne as well as elements of medieval decorations. The nib is stamped with, \"2000, 4810, 18K 750 MONTBLANC\". The nib point (iridium) measures .49mm when measured with digital calipers. To preserve its pristine condition, I refrained from using ink in the pen, ensuring that the next owner would receive an exceptional writing instrument.
This Montblanc comes in the original Montblanc wooden black lacquered box, outer storage factory box, Limited Edition International Service Certificate Booklet, and the original Fine nib sticker that is adhered to the blind cap.
This Montblanc Patron of the Arts Karl der Grosse Fountain Pen is a truly spectacular and refined writing tool, skillfully created and designed in Germany. It is in impeccable condition, having never been used with ink, and would make a fantastic addition to any writing collection.
