4.5” X 4.5” MOSAIC TURQUOIS CORAL /ONYX OBSIDIAN MAYA DEATH MASK STATUE - MEXICO:

This is approximately 4.5” x 4.5” in length/width and heavy (approximately 15 ounces). It is a magnificent looking piece. From all of the research I have done, it looks like most of these are made in Mexican by hand. The whites of the eyes look to be mother of pearl. Onyx, possibly ceramic, and coral and other materials are included in various parts of this piece. It’s very hard to identify this piece to any exact comparison that I can find on the internet. The left ear (right side of the pictures, has a small crack but it’s still intact and not very noticeable as it is on the black area of the head.

This is a very cool and well made piece. Beautiful piece of art. It would look great on a shelf in a living room with natural light.
