This beautiful cotton 1870\'s / 1880\'s red and tan floral applique quilt is handappliqued and hand quilted, with traditional four block configuration.It measures 68\" X 74\" and is in good condition, with light surface dirt in places, wear at the binding edge, and almost imperceptible wear in the white background in the center area.
The hand quilting is superb, with close straight line and floral / leaf designs quilted throughout at 8-10 stitches to the inch. There is straight line quilting by treadle machine in the border only.
The back is white, the hand stitched, worn binding is solid red, and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue inside when you hold the quilt up to the light.
