Famed American aviation pioneer AMELIA EARHART autographed 1930 NEW YORK AVIATION SHOW Air Mail cover postmarked Feb 7, 1930 from New York, N.Y.With postmark and "Via Air Mail" stamps on the front. Earhart signs with a red pencil signature near the upper left corner, which is countersigned by George Haldeman, the noted test pilot and holder of several aviation records.
In 1930, after only 15 minutes of instruction, Earhart became the first woman to fly an autogiro, made by Pitcairn and featuring rotating blades to increase lift and allow short takeoffs and landing.Between 1930 and 1935, Earhart would go on to set seven women's speed and distance aviation records in a variety of aircraft.
