This is an excellent example of a very old Port Essington Club.117 cmsin length,it has seen a great amount of use over a long life beginning in the 1800's, first used as a fighting weapon, then ceremonial purpose. The finedetail of the artwork is quite unique and obviously caught the eye of the collector.This club is one of two that I have seen over the years which appear to be made with out the fish tail shape.As the collector nowadays would know, clubs of this type are rare and thisone shows a long, well shaped and balanced, masterful piece of art !
