ANTIQUE CONTINENTAL STYLE FLORAL ENAMEL SNUFF BOX, POSS. 18TH C. STAFFORDSHIRE:

An incredible antique continental style enamel snuff box, possibly 18th century Staffordshire Bliston. Box is dressed in white enamel with raised waves decorating the exterior. The exterior also features an array of colorful, hand painted flowers, while the lid interior is decorated with a tree of swirling filigree, with flowers and bird. Box measures approx. 1.5"h x 3.25"l x 2.5"w. It's in fair antique condition, displaying wear consistant with its presumed age, the enamel having a few spots of discoloration/residue, several hairline cracks/fine fractures, and a few chips, and the metal fitting having significant plating loss, surface scratches, and oxidation - see pictures. The fitting has also disconnected from the box bottom, and will need to be reattached. No markings obverved, but style of decoration and box shape indicate it may be a Staffordshire Bliston product.
