ANTIQUE HUBLEY USA SLEEPING CAT CAST IRON ART STATUE SCULPTURE DOORSTOP:

This is a RARE Antique Hubley Cast Iron Copper Black Sleeping Cat Doorstop

made of cast iron. The body is a two piece mold held together by two long screws inside. Though unmarked, appears on page 93 of Jeanne Bertoia's book:(see pic)

"Doorstops Identification & Values", 1996, as made by Hubley.

Measures 8 1/4" tall, and 7 1/4" in length (with nose against the wall, to back of tail). Weighs around 5 pounds.

This must have originally been painted but over the years the paint has worn off and now has a beautiful patina with copper wear. Lovely old piece!
