Antique Mercury Glass Raspberry Bird and UNUSUAL Beaded Swing Christmas Ornament. Crafted in Germany before 1900, this ornament features a happy songbird in a swing with wire nesting, surrounded by rare and unique mercury glass beads. The ornament is hand painted and embellished with intricate details, making it a perfect addition to any ornament collection. The ornament is an original, handmade with a spun glass tail. It is a perfect gift for any recipient, and its antique and vintage design makes it a valuable Christmas ornament. I believe this to be an arts and crafts movement design. This is a beautiful antique, raspberry and silver and color, mercury, glass bird with matching mercury, glass beads, forming the swing for the bird to rest in with it’s lovely wire, wrapped nesting that still shines! No breaks or chips or cracks that I can find. This lovely Happy songbird has raspberry color, eyes, and beak and markings on its body in the same coloring, as well as the silver mercury. Spun, glass tail. Slightly pushed the bird in the swing as it hangs on the tree, and it will move back-and-forth as though it just landed from flight. This displays nicely on a tree or in a curio cabinet year-round. This is very unusual as well as the beating. Please study over photos as they do serve as description for this ornament. Each tree takes anywhere from 3 to 4 weeks to create. Payment on the Feather tree would be expected half before the job starts and the other half upon completion.
