c1860-1870 EIGHT POINT TWINKLING STAR PIECED QUILT 91\" x 76\" HEAVILY QUILTED Presenting acotton1860 - 1870 Eight Point Twinkling Star quilt. ALLhand stitched, and ALL hand pieced and quilted. A great visual country quilt. Bound and backed with white cotton. Various prints of mid century used to make 8-pointedstars design. There are hand done stitching, throughout at 7 stitches to the inch. The quilt consists of diagonal quilting, and diamond motifs. The battinghas a medium thickness. All hand sewn, binding hand sewn front border to back. Colors are still bright and vivid.
Condition: No repairs,or odors. Few very small brown oxidation storage spots scattered about. Some few small patches of color fading on yellow border. Some stains mostly on back. I have not washed this quilt, and I believe with a soaking and sunshine these stains will fade away.
Measures: 91\" x 76\".
This quilt is reminiscent of a very grand and regal period when quilters had time to skillfully finish a quilt.
The quilt would work on a full sized bed and is in very good, unwashed condition.
