SUPERB ANTIQUE CERAMIC MATCH STRIKER

Presenting a fabulous antique ceramic stoneware match striker with a superb faux snakeskin finish to the top portion.The snakeskin finish is naturalistically coloured and finely detailed with the individual scales creating an appealing texture allowing for a match to spark when flicked against its surface.The lower portion of the striker has been finished in a glossy grey glaze, with a slightly darker band trimming the top opening. SIZE: This impressive piece stands approx 58mms tall and measures 75mms in diameter.CONDITION: This piece is presented in very good antique condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. Exceptionally minor wear to the glazed finished noticeable only on extremely close examination but mentioned for complete accuracy. This piece has been very well cared for and presents beautifully.MARKS: This piece is veautifully marked to the base with the makers mark featuring "S and S" contained within an hourglass. The lettering "Patent Trade Mark Rd No 187037" also appears along with hand brushed decorators mark "D 5311".
