Antique 1800's Large Huge 65" x 40.5" Canvas Art Painting Signed " Wheeldon " Being offered is a very old antique painting measuring 65" across x 40.5" in height. Bottom right quadrant is signed "Wheeldon." After doing some light research on the artist's name, I was unable to find any information. Any information about this artist would be greatly appreciated! The man that owned this painting passed away many years ago. He felt the painting was special enough to hang in his safe room w/ his other fine antiques. He traveled across the U.S. to buy antiques & especially paintings, so I'm unsure where this painting was acquired. After passing away, the painting was left in his safe room for many years unattended to. As you can see from the pictures, there is a tear close to the back of the young man's head. Their is also age spotting throughout. I'm no expert on paintings or artwork, so I'm unable to give a date this painting was done. According to the square head nails & thick canvas used, I can see that it is a very old painting. The last picture in the listing shows a close up view of the type canvas used.Please look closely at all pictures to determine condition for yourself.
