Antique 1870\'sCHEDDAR LEMOYNE STAR QUILT w/ WI Provenance NEVER USED - FROM SELLER’S PERSONALCOLLECTION.
- The photos provided areto be considered an important part of the description, so please viewthem thoroughly. -QUILTPROVENANCE:I purchased thisquilt from myneighbor in mid1990’s. Hisname was PaulKing, who was inhis 80’s at the time. Thequilt originatesfrom Wisconsin, andwas made by his immediate familymember. -Quiltis madefrom cotton fabrics, andcomprised of 20 CHEDDAR STARS,witha CHEDDAR DOUBLESAW-TOOTH BORDER.
- Quilt has a thin cotton batting. - Quilt is HAND-PIECED and HAND-QUILTED. (NOTE: There are still somepencil quilt markings visible). The HAND-PIECING and HAND-QUILTING isPRECISE, TINY, and METICULOUS; done by a very experienced seamstress. (Refer to photos)
-The binding was machine stitched on, then folded in half andhand-stitched to the backside. -MEASURES96” x 80”.
- There is a Wisconsin Quilt History Project tag sewn to backside.
-Quilt is in Never Used or Washed condition. No wear, holes,ortears. It exhibitsagediscoloration/spottingand/or tanning; the majority being to the backside. (Refer to photos)
