This is the real deal. This is not doll size, it is one of the few rare child Victorian wicker prams still surviving. However it would make an amazing display piece for dolls, the holidays, Halloween, museums, stores, etc.

These are very rare. Especially in this condition. It has the original rose tapestry carpet lining in the seat and all original hardware. It has the rings in the front that would\'ve had a leather strap hooked through like a rope to keep the toddler baby safe. The handle is a beautiful, rich patina turned wood. Very ornate. The wicker detailing is basket weave with ball and stick detail. Very late 1800s, Eastlake-Early Edwardian. The front feet basket comes off if you so choose so the as the child grew, so did the leg room. The sides are wide to give ample space for the Victorian cushions and pillows and tasseled blankets that would\'ve been used. The wheels are large like the early bicycles. Made of metal and may have had a rubber trim 140yrs ago. The back reclines.

This is piece is quite usable and functions on a variety of levels. Wheels easily. The wicker & a few screws need tightening in a few spots. There is age appropriate wear & spots to the piece, a few knicks and missing wicker. This is light in color & would shine up nicely with a quick wood oil finish to nourish the old wicker. There are a few pics with a flash are more accurate to its color. The mechanics and metal makeup is a work of art in itself. Keep in mind this was not for dolls but for an actual child 140yrs ago. How special is that? Imagine a new Victorian mother or nanny strolling the promenade with their beautiful baby in this ornate carriage.
