For sale is a really interesting vase made by I think Strasbourg during their early days of making porcelain in the mid 18th century . The vase has a nice shape to it with a large floral arrangement hand painted to the front and back with two smaller arrangements to both near the top. In between there is an applied gilded ring holding up a gilded band that leads to really nice applied floral designs to either side. Very unusual in style are these flowers and the only thing I could find similar to them are their flowers on faience. Some nice gold trim here and there and a green ring where the base and main body meet. The paste of this vase feels more like soft paste and I am not sure if they ever made soft paste porcelain. It makes this a very interesting piece. While it displays pretty well it obviously has a good amount of damage though definitely worth restoring! There is a chip to the top edge which was previously restored, one of the rings has been restored and part of the band in that spot as well, the base has been broken and previously restored but broken again and there is damage to some of the flowers plus a spot near one of the large floral arrangements where it was knocked and a bit of glaze is gone and a star crack that is stable goes from there. All in all it still looks great and if it is an early Hannong piece it would be a very rare survivor. The piece is 7.5 inches tall with a diameter of 4.75 inches from where the applied flowers stick out a bit. It is marked with a script under glaze blue mark that very much looks like an early Strasbourg mark as shown. That was covered by over paint when I bought it and I reached my believe that it was made by Hannong before I even saw the mark so it sort of validated my believe. I am however not 100% on that as I have never seen anything like it nor could find it in my searches.
